Scaffolding Ring Bolts

The Scaffolding ring bolt is specially designed to support free standing scaffolding, through correct installation in conjunction with an M16 anchor.  HAS can provide HAS can provide complete design advice, calculations, supply, install, inspection and testing to the current British Standards.

Safe working load of eyebolt is 12.5kN in tension.  Minimum breaking load of eyebolt is 65kN in tension.  Each individual eyebolt is proof tested to 25kN during manufacture.  Each ringbolt is also galvanised to EN 1461.

The shear strength of the installed anchor is dramatically improved by setting the anchor as deep as possible – thus providing added resistance to bending and subsequent fracture.  When the ring bolt is removed the hole should be ‘plugged’, to prevent ingress of water, by the use of a plastic cover cap.

Ringbolts may be installed into the inner leaf structure.  This requires the extension of the shank by the addition of a threaded adaptor and M16 threaded rod.

Ringbolts are intended for ‘Push – Pull’ loading, tensile or compressive loads only.  They should be incorporated into the scaffold to avoid significant lateral loading.  If this is unavoidable then the bending strength of the ringbolt is optimised by setting the anchor as deep as possible while still giving adequate access for clips and fittings.  When used in a cladding application the avoidance of lateral loading is absolutely vital as this can cause cladding units to fail.
