Industrial rope access has been developed over the last 25 years as a means of access for much of the work in all sectors, including but not exhaustive; petrochemical industry, projects in construction, civil engineering, the built and natural environment and much more. Rope access equipment is lightweight and able to be removed in rapid time, which offers greater flexibility and speed, and therefore making rope access a preferred method of access.
The primary objective when using rope access methods is to plan, manage and carry out the work with minimal accidents, incidents or dangerous occurrences, for example, to ensure a safe system of work is maintained at all times, and with no damage to property or harm to persons or the environment.
Abseil systems are often installed discreetly along the edge of a building and can offer unlimited access and are considered to be a particularly economic solution for building and window maintenance in comparison to a BMU, platform or hoist system. Bespoke and proprietary abseil systems can be designed at the initial stage of a project, giving the benefit of facade access without the requirement for costly BMU’s (building maintenance units). Some of the abseil rails we can offer can be retrospectively fitted to existing buildings and structures, where provisions for such activities were never originally allowed for.
