HASL were called in to complete a full structural survey of the cladding panels at Colmore Row shopping centre in Birmingham. The survey uncovered a number of issues with corroded cladding fixings and subsequent failure of fixings in a number of areas. The decision was made to secure the panels on a temporary basis until a full re-clad could take place. HASL installed over 2,000m of 12mm cable fitted to chemical anchors and further applied a heavy duty rock meshing normally associated with railway embankment projects. This revolutionary product gave our client total confidence that any future failures of a cladding panels would be contained in the mesh system. |
