Centre Parcs Longleat Tensioned Access Platform Systems

Industrial Abseiling / Rope-Access methods for Structural Survey Reports, Design, Supply and Installation of a Temporary Working Platform to the roof areas.

Project Specifics: Center Parcs Longleat Forest is a holiday destination which can hold up to 4000 visitors at any one time. Our client was required to refurbish the roof structure of the Subtropical Swimming Pool Paradise.

The design brief was simple ‘create a working platform to enable the work to be carried out, without interruption to the visiting customers’. Working together with our client, High Access Solutions was able to offer a complete solution for the working at height design risk assessment, product design, manufacture, training and maintenance of the high access work platform system.

The system consists of a white textile panel with white webbing straps tensioned utilising a tension force indicator to ensure that the design loads were not exceeded. The system was designed to accommodate a maximum of 1000kg per roof bay area. Samples were manufactured and tested to ensure that the client was appreciative of the system prior to full scale production.

Once production was commenced; High Access Solutions Rope-Access teams worked through the nights to ensure minimal disruption to the Subtropical Swimming Pool Paradise. Once the system was installed a series of end user training and inspection bespoke courses and PPE were supplied to allow safe use of the system.

The Temporary Working Platform System is unique in that it allows a high level of light penetration through the system and therefore during the day has very little visual impact to those using the pool area. Once completed the system provided total debris encapsulation of the working area whilst providing fall-arrest protection and a working surface for our client to work from.
